Talk about being a week late to the Party. 8-Bit Theater was a web comic that comically followed the plot line of the Final Fantasy 1 video game. I played the game back on the original NES but these days you can find it on the Nintendo DS.
As I was saying, late for the party. I still have this comic in my RSS reader but the very last comic was put up June 1st completing the story of the game in round about 9 years worth of comics.
I read comic books for superhero stories. I read web comics for Modern Fantasy. There are exceptions to both rules but Swiftriver Comics falls squarely in the latter category. It follows the story of Bowie Swiftriver (gotta love the hippie name) who as of the beginning of the comic is an about-to-retire thief. For whatever reason Bowie has started seeing ‘beneath the surface’ of the world to the fantasy beneath.
Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic (henceforth YAFGC) is not the best drawn comic that I read but it is far and away the most consistently produced comic I read. YAFGC just reached its #1000th comic and shows very little sign of stopping. (Important Note: Though never explicit, YAFGC has more than its fair share of topless men and women running around so is likely not safe for your work place).
